Food and Produce

The micro climate and granitic soil provide excellent growing conditions not only for grapes, but also for a range of vegetables plus stone fruit, berries, apples and pears, which you can pick up from local markets, fruit shops and the farm gate.
Be sure to sample the regional fare by
dining out when you visit this food lover’s paradise. Eating out includes Stanthorpe’s traditional Italian-themed restaurants, delis, winery cafes, bakehouses, cafes, modern Australian cuisine, traditional pub fare, and of course the usual take-away suspects.
The Stanthorpe Market in the Mountains, held on the second and fourth Sunday of each month, is a great spot to pick up fresh, seasonal produce and gourmet treats, along with other market fare. Regional produce can also be sourced from
other markets held throughout the region.
The Granite Belt Nude Food Trail is a self-drive experience of produce, in region and in
season. The trail shows where to eat out, find fresh produce, local meats, savoury staples, sweet treats and local food events.
If you can’t get to the Granite Belt to stock up on fresh seasonal produce and gourmet goodies, don’t worry, the Granite Belt will come to you at Brisbane’s South Bank for Granite Belt Flavours.
