The weather, well-drained soil and viticultural expertise of the Granite Belt have transformed the region's vineyards into a burgeoning industry.  Granite Belt wineries are the most awarded in Queensland, earning the reputation of Queensland's premier wine region, and with over 50 wineries, vineyards and cellar doors to choose from, you’re sure to find a wine, or a few, that you really like.

The region's signature whites include Verdelho, Semillon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.  For that full flavour, tuck into the local Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties.

For wine lovers looking for alternative varieties, the Strange Bird Alternative Wine Trail is well worth a visit.

The Granite Belt is also home to the Queensland College of Wine Tourism (QCWT), a purpose-built facility providing education and training for the Queensland wine tourism industry.  Visitors to the QCWT can learn about the wine industry at the tourism centre, taste the award-winning Banca Ridge wines in the cellar door and enjoy a snack or meal in the bistro.  All the college activity is presented by students in their learning environment.
