Getting Around

Ideally located only two hours drive from Brisbane, Queensland's Southern Downs and Granite Belt is waiting to be discovered. Whichever way you travel to the Southern Downs & Granite Belt, be sure to plan to stop or overnight, as once you see our beautiful region and what it has to offer, you may never want to leave…

Getting Here:

From Brisbane: take the Ipswich Motorway west out of Brisbane, exiting onto the Cunningham Highway and entering the Southern Downs via Cunningham’s Gap. For a spectacular drive, exit earlier at the Boonah-Rathdowney Road and follow this into Killarney, via Queen Mary Falls.

From Toowoomba: follow the New England Highway south.

From the Southern States: two major highways feed into the region. From New South Wales, take ‘Australia's Country Way’ — the New England Highway, Route 15 and from Victoria and South Australia, travel the Newell, Highway 39.
