Okay witches and wizards of all houses, did you know that there are many magical London Harry Potter filming locations you can visit?
London is mentioned constantly throughout the Harry Potter books, so it’s no wonder that the producers decided to film the movies in the UK’s capital city.
Although this is a Muggle place, you can find the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron, Diagon Alley, Platform 9 3/4s, Ministry of Magic, and Gringotts Bank if you look hard enough.
Plus, there are many Harry Potter-inspired locations, shops, and experiences to enjoy like potion classes, afternoon teas, escape rooms, and The Cursed Child play!
Here are all the London Harry Potter things to do including filming locations, experiences, and places you can visit.
London Harry Potter filming locations
1. Harry Potter Studios Tour
If you’re a Potterhead, you simply cannot leave London without visiting the Harry Potter Studio Tour.
It’s where they filmed all eight of the Harry Potter movies and where they store thousands of props, costumes, and movie sets.
On your tour, you can walk through the Great Hall, bow to Buckbeak, sip on Butterbeer, walk through Gringotts, visit 4 Privet Drive and pull your very own mandrake in the Hogwarts Greenhouse.
Not to mention the fact you can walk through the Hogwarts Express, explore Diagon Alley and see the Hogwarts model they used for filming the castle scenes.
They often have special events throughout the year like Dark Arts for Halloween and Hogwarts in the Snow at Christmas time.
Plus, you can book a special afternoon tea before/after your tour under magical floating candles.
They are constantly adding new things to the tour and creating new special events all the time. So, there’s always a reason to go back.

2. Leadenhall Market / The Leaky Cauldron
Leadenhall Market is a colourful Victorian marketplace in London that has over 700 years of history.
Today, it’s popular with Potterheads as it’s home to the Leaky Cauldron, the entrance to Diagon Alley!
If you remember, in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Harry and Hagrid walk through here to travel to Diagon Alley and buy wizarding supplies for Hogwarts.
You can find both filming locations at the entrance to Leadenhall Market from Gracechurch Street and the door to the Leaky Cauldron is the Migraine Clinic on Bull’s Head Passage.
This is one of the most magical London Harry Potter filming locations, you really can’t skip this one. You can stop here for food and cocktails!

3. King’s Cross station / Platform 9 3/4s
One of the best London Harry Potter filming locations can be found at King’s Cross Station in London.
This is when Harry first travels to Platform 9 3/4s to catch the Hogwarts Express and travels to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!
Although Platform 9 3/4 doesn’t exist, you can still find plenty of Harry Potter experiences at the station like The Harry Potter Shop where you can buy all sorts of magical souvenirs.
They even have a trolley photo opportunity where it will appear that you’re travelling through the wall. You can wear a Hogwarts scarf and hold a wand.
In terms of filming locations, you’ll find where Harry teleports through the wall between the Muggle platforms of 4 & 5!
Also, you can walk on the footbridge where Harry and Hagrid walk together. But, it has changed since filming and has been upgraded to a glass walkway.

4. St Pancras Hotel / King’s Cross Station
Just across from King’s Cross Station, you can head over to St Pancras International Station which is home to the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel.
You will instantly recognise this Gothic Building as the outside of King’s Cross Station in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
This is when Ron & Harry miss the Hogwarts Express and so Ron flies the Blue Ford Anglia to try and chase it down.
The inside of the hotel is well worth a visit as well as it has one of the prettiest grand staircases in all of London. It featured in the Spice Girls’ music video for Wannabe.

5. Claremont Square / 12 Grimmauld Place
Another one of my favourite London Harry Potter filming locations has to be Claremont Square.
This is where they filmed 12 Grimmauld Place i.e. the Noble House of Black and The Order of the Phoenix HQ.
In the movies, 12 Grimmauld Place was hidden between the Muggle residences of 11 and 13.
The house would only be revealed to those magical folk who knew the secret and used a Fidelius Charm.
But, don’t fret, even if you’re a Muggle you can still visit 12 Grimmauld Place by visiting numbers 23-29 Claremont Square. The nearest tube station is Angel.

6. El Pastor on Stoney Street / Leaky Cauldron
Although they used Leadenhall Market as the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, that’s not where the Knight Bus drops him off in the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Indeed, the director Alfonso Cuarón wanted to reuse Leadenhall Market for the Leaky Cauldron but a giant purple double-decker bus simply couldn’t fit inside the covered marketplace!
So, they decided to create a new entrance to Diagon Alley. The Knight Bus drops Harry off under a bridge at the side of the road.
The Innkeeper Tom then takes Harry’s suitcase off the Knight Bus and lets him inside through the archway.
This is actually El Pastor Restaurant on Stoney Street next to Borough Market which is a popular Mexican restaurant and taqueria!
It’s an ideal place to take a break. You can chase down London Harry Potter filming locations and stop here for some food at the same time.
7. Charing Cross Road / Entrance Diagon Alley
In the books, Charing Cross Road is where the Leaky Cauldron is located which gives them access to the wizard shopping street of Diagon Alley!
In the Muggle World, this is a very popular shopping street with bookshops, boutiques, and theatres.
Although they used Leadenhall Market for the Leaky Cauldron scenes in the first movie, we do see Charing Cross Road later on in the film series.
This is the street that the Death Eaters fly through on their way to Diagon Alley to kidnap Garrick Ollivander in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince!
8. Piccadilly Circus
Picadilly Circus is a vibrant area of London which seems to come alive at night time! You’ll see red buses, colourful lights, and silver screens that make this area entirely magical.
It appeared briefly in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 when Harry, Ron, and Hermione are fleeing Death Eaters after Bill Weasley and Fleur’s Delacour’s wedding.
They apparate into Piccadilly Circus, nearly getting hit by the number 19 bus then make their way along Shaftesbury Avenue and into an arcade and café where Hermione realises it’s Harry’s birthday!
They had to shut down nearly all of Picadilly Circus which was no small feat and is very rarely allowed in London.
They hired over 300 extras to fill up the area as ‘tourists’ and there were action vehicles playing the cars and buses.
9. Shaftesbury Avenue
After Picadilly Circus, you can follow in the footsteps of the Golden Trio and make your way down Shaftesbury Avenue.
Hermione apparated them here as she used to go to the theatre here with her parents and it was the first place she could think of.
They then head down an alleyway and Hermione provides them all spare clothes with her ‘undetectable extension charm’.
They filmed these scenes at the grey columns of Shaftesbury Avenue. Just like in the movie, you’ll find this place can get rather busy in the evenings in London!
In the books, all of this took place on Tottenham Court Road but Picadilly Circus was more recognisable.
10. Westminster Tube Station
“Trains…Underground?!…Genius these Muggles!” – Arthur Weasley
I absolutely love Arthur Weasley’s obsession with the Muggle world and simple things like rubber ducks.
In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix we see a rather hilarious scene of Arthur with Harry on the tube at Westminster Station.
Arthur really doesn’t know how a tube station works and just tries to tap on the turnstile to move through. Harry then taps his tube travel card for him.
If you remember, Arthur is accompanying Harry to the Ministry of Magic so he can attend his disciplinary hearing after producing a Patronus against Dementors in the presence of a Muggle.
You can easily visit this London Harry Potter filming location at Westminster Underground Station as they didn’t change any of it for the production.
11. Millennium Bridge / Death Eater’s Rampage
Another London Harry Potter filming location you must visit has to be the Millennium Bridge which is near St Paul’s Cathedral.
This is the London bridge that the Death Eaters destroy in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince!
Cornelius Fudge refuses to step down as the Minister of Magic and so Voldemort decides to spread terror through London.
In the books, the bridge that the Death Eaters destroy is Brockdale Bridge. But, in the movies they used the Millennium Bridge as it was more recognisable.
As the name suggests, the footbridge opened up in the year 2000 but there were problems with the construction and it started shaking.
It was deemed structurally unsound and was immediately shut down. Londoners gave it the nickname ‘Wobbly Bridge’ and it eventually re-opened two years later.
Beyond a Harry Potter filming location, this bridge provides amazing views over London. From here, you can see Tate Modern, St Paul’s Cathedral, Tower Bridge, and Shakespeare’s Globe!

12. St Paul’s Cathedral / Hogwarts Divination Stairwell
One of my favourite London Harry Potter filming locations has to be inside St Paul’s Cathedral in London.
Their geometric staircase was transformed into the Divination Stairwell for Hogwarts School!
If you remember back to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Hermione is a little stressed about taking so many classes and so uses a Time Turner to be able to attend all of them.
When Professor Trelawney tells her she doesn’t possess the art of Divination, something snaps. Hermione shoves the crystal ball off the table and then storms off down this spiral staircase with Harry and Ron following after her.
We also see it in the Goblet of Fire when Neville is upset after the unforgivable curse lesson with Mad-Eye Moody.
This is St Paul’s Cathedral Staircase although they did alter it slightly for filming to make it look more magical.
The geometric staircase isn’t included in a standard ticket (£18 for adults). But, you can book a Public Trioforum Tour which includes a peek.

13. Australia House / Gringotts Bank
Did you know that the inside of Gringotts Bank in the Harry Potter movies wasn’t actually a film set?
It was filmed entirely inside Australia House in London which is home to the Australia High Commission!
They didn’t need to change the interiors much as it was already fitted with glittering chandeliers, marble floors, and columns.
All that was needed were some banking desks and of course, lots of greedy Goblins hard at work sorting Galleons!
You aren’t allowed in the building but it’s still worth stopping whilst you’re on your Harry Potter London tour.
Make sure to stop at the Savoy Hotel nearby. It wasn’t a filming location but was where Richard Harris, who played the original Dumbledore, spent the last years of his life.
14. London City Hall / Curious Muggles
London City Hall is a building that appears to be made entirely made of glass and sits on the banks of the River Thames near Tower Bridge.
We see it briefly feature in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince when the Death Eaters are destroying London!
Before they start destroying Diagon Alley and the Millennium Bridge, the curious Muggles in a business meeting are looking out of the window.
They see the terrible storm brewing and Voldemort’s dark mark in the sky before his army descends.
14. Trafalgar Square / Death Eater’s Flight
Another place that we see in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the bustling Trafalgar Square.
Just after the curious Muggles look out of the City Hall, we see Fenrir Greyback and a small group of Death Eaters fly across the square before entering Diagon Alley to kidnap Garrick Ollivander!
As they fly you can also see other notable sites such as St Martin-in-the-Fields and Centre Point on Tottenham Court Road.
Trafalgar Square is a famous London attraction that has Nelson’s Column in the centre of it. It was built as a public square to commemorate the victory of the Battle of Trafalgar.
You will find this square has a lovely vibe throughout the day and you can visit the National Gallery here.
16. Tower Bridge / The Flight of the Order of the Phoenix
Although this bridge only had a minor feature, Tower Bridge is still worth a mention in this list.
It’s easy to see whilst visiting other London Harry Potter filming locations like Lambeth Bridge and it’s an incredible photography spot near the Tower of London.
We briefly see it during Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix when Harry and the Order fly over London to 12 Grimmauld Place.
You’ll also see other recognisable sites on their flight like Canary Wharf and Big Ben over the Houses of Parliament in Westminster.
Many people mistake this Victorian bridge as being the famous ‘London Bridge’ but they are entirely separate bridges.
The Tower Bridge was built between 1886 and 1894. It acts as both a transport bridge over the River Thames and a pedestrian bridge. So, it’s a must-visit!
17. Scotland Place / Ministry of Magic
Have you ever wondered how cool it would be to transport from a Red Telephone Box to the Ministry of Magic?
That’s what happens to Harry Potter and Arthur Weasley in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
Scotland Place was used as the visitor’s entrance to the Ministry of Magic and this is right near Whitehall and Scotland Yard!
Although the red telephone box won’t be there on your visit, you can still visit this London Harry Potter filming location to imagine it.
It also appears again in the Deathly Hallows Part 1 when Ron, Harry, and Hermione stun some Ministry of Magic employees.
18. Horse & Guards Avenue / Ministry of Magic
In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 we see Horse & Guards avenue as the entrance to the Ministry of Magic.
If you remember back, this is when the entrance was in a public toilet in the middle of the road!
Harry, Ron & Hermione use a polyjuice potion to disguise themselves as Ministry of Magic employees and sneak in through the bog.
Although the toilets don’t exist in real life you can still imagine that you’re sneaking into the Ministry if you visit turning near Whitehall Court.
19. Lambeth Bridge / The Knight Bus
- “Hey guys…guys…why the long faces?! Hahaha” – Dre Head, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Another location that we see on Harry’s magical tour to the Leaky Cauldron on the Knight Bus is Lambeth Bridge.
The bus crosses over the bridge and has to squeeze through two double-decker buses to allow them through!
A great place to see this bridge is from a jetty near Lambeth Fire Station, you get amazing views of Lambeth Bridge with the House of Parliament in the backdrop! It makes an incredible photo opportunity.
20. 12 Great Newport Street / Death Eater’s Flight
There are plenty of places in London where you can visit the ‘real’ Diagon Alley for yourself and one of the more unusual ones can be found near Covent Garden.
In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood prince, we see the Death Eaters destroying London and in their rampage of destruction, they travel through a large alleyway.
You’ll find the filming location of 12 Great Newport Street at the point before they travel through the wall into Diagon Alley.

21. Harrow School / Hogwarts Classroom
“Stop, stop stop! You’re going to take someone’s eye out. Besides, you’re saying it wrong. It’s Levi-OOO-sa, not Levio-SAR”– is one of my favourite Harry Potter quotes from the first movie.
It happens when the Hogwarts Students are in their first Charms lesson with Professor Flitwick!
All of these scenes that are meant to be in Hogwarts Castle are actually filmed in Harrow School in London.
They chose the Four Form Room located in the Old Schools building that dates back to 1615.
Although it is a private school, they do run public tours throughout the year. Make sure to email them beforehand to be informed of the next open day.
22. Reptile House London Zoo
Do you remember in the first movie when Harry is taken to London Zoo by the Dursleys for Dudley’s birthday?
Then, Harry manages to speak to a Brazilian Boa Constrictor using Parseltongue and hilarously manages to get Dudley trapped inside the enclosure without realising he’s a powerful wizard!
Well, these scenes were actually filmed at London Zoo and you can you can visit this location for yourself at their Reptile House.
The Reptile House was built in 1926 and this part of the exhibit actually houses their Black Mamba!
You do have to pay to see this and saver tickets start from £26.50 an adult. ZSL London Zoo is near Camden Town and Regent’s Park.
23. Heathgate / Hermione Granger’s House
It’s a heartbreaking scene in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 when Hermione has to obliviate her Muggle parents to protect them.
If you didn’t know this is a memory or forgetfulness charm which means they would forget she even existed!
We see Hermione her leaving the Granger Household in the movie. In her Hogwarts acceptance letter, she lives at 8 Heathgate, Hampstead Garden Suburb in London.
The filming location is not far off at all! You’ll find the house they used at the corner of Heathgate and Meadway in Hampstead Garden Suburb near Saint Jude On-The-Hill Anglican Parish Church.
24. Surbiton Railway Station
Okay, I will definitely admit that this London Harry Potter filming location is a bit ‘out there’ so don’t make a special trip just to see it if you’re on vacation.
But, you can visit Surbiton Railway Station to see where Harry reads the Daily Prophet after the Death Eaters attack London Bridge in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Dumbledore rather rudely stops Harry from taking a date with the waitress in the coffee shop who flirted with him. They then apparate to find Slughorn in Budleigh Babberton!
As I say, it’s not somewhere I would prioritise visiting if you’re only in London for a few days. But, you could stop here to visit the café which is now a Cafe Nero.
25. Highgate cemetery
Although technically not a Harry Potter filming location, Potterheads may be interested to know that this is where they filmed some of the new franchise Fantastic Beasts!
In Fantastic Beasts and the Crimes of Grindelwald, Newt and his friends are summoned to the Lestrange Mausoleum by Grindelwald which is located in the Pére Lachaise Cemetery in Paris.
But, this crypt wasn’t filmed in France at all. It was actually filmed in London at the Circle of Lebanon at West Highgate!
You’ll recognise this area of the cemetery during the ‘Wands into the Earth’ scene with Nicolas Flamel.
Highgate Cemetery is one of the most famous cemeteries in the UK and there are many famous people buried here such as George Eliot, Malcolm McClaren, and Christina Rossetti.

Inspired London Harry Potter locations
As well as visiting all of these London Harry Potter filming locations there are plenty of places in London that are thought to have inspired locations in the books and movies.
26. Cecil Court / Diagon Alley
One of the most popular Harry Potter locations in London has to be Cecil Court which is thought to have inspired Diagon Alley.
It’s easy to see why as it’s a beautiful shopping street with oil lamps, hanging signs, and colourful shops.
You’ll find all sorts of vintage bookshops, like Travis & Emery, and vintage boutiques that look like they belong in the wizarding world shopping street.

27. Goodwin’s Court / Knockturn Alley
One of my favourite London Harry Potter locations has to be the mysterious Goodwin’s Court.
A backstreet of London that is popular with Potterheads as it is thought to have inspired Diagon Alley from Harry Potter.
I’m sorry but this looks more like Knockturn Alley to me and you could just imagine Draco Malfoy or Bellatrix Lestrange visiting Borgin & Burkes here with all the black bay windows!
Although it isn’t a filming location, you must make a visit here on your London Harry Potter tour.
Don’t forget to visit Mr. Fogg’s Tavern nearby which is an Around the World in 80 Days-inspired pub.

London Harry Potter experiences
As well as chasing down London Harry Potter filming locations and inspired locations, there are plenty of immersive experiences you can take part in as well!
From walking tours and escape rooms to afternoon teas and potion classes. You can find plenty of magic in London.

28. Harry Potter Photographic Exhibition (now closed)
One of the latest London Harry Potter experiences is their brand new Harry Potter Photographic Exhibition in Convent Garden.
On the tour, you can see hundreds of ‘never-before-seen’ photographs and props from all eight Harry Potter movies in the franchise.
You’ll see Hagrid’s Motorbike, Voldemort’s Robes, Gringotts Galleons as well as Hermione’s outfit.
You can even fly a broom on their green screen experience and get your very own Ministry of Magic ID card.

29. Harry Potter Butterbeer Bar (now closed)
After you’ve finished your tour of the Harry Potter Photographic Exhibition, you can sit in the London Butterbeer Bar!
Here, you’ll find barrels of Butterbeer to sit in whilst you admire photos of the Harry Potter cast drinking the favourite wizarding beverage.
The Butterbeer bar only has bottled Butterbeer and you get a souvenir mug to take home with you. There are cup washers onsite so it won’t get sticky in your bag.
As well as the obvious draw of Butterbeer, they have a healthy selection of snacks and sandwiches too. As well as sweet treats like Chocolate Frog muffins and a Witches Hat torte.
You do have the purchase a ticket to the Harry Potter Photographic Museum to enter the bar but it’s well worth it in my opinion.

30. Leicester Square Harry Potter statue
Did you know that there is a London Harry Potter statue? Yep, and it’s located in Leicester Square!
You’ll find a statue of Harry Potter riding his Nimbus 2000 in his Quidditch Gear in the centre.
It’s only a short visit for a photo but it’s well worth making a stop here if you’re on a London Harry Potter tour!
You’ll also find other statues of British favourites nearby like Mary Poppins, Paddington Bear, and Mr. Bean.
31. Leicester Square LEGO store
One of my favourite shops in Leicester Square has to be their giant LEGO store!
What’s even better is that now they have lots of Lego Harry Potter characters and scenes all over the store.
You can find the Harry Potter dragon over Gringotts Bank, Diagon Alley, and even the blue Ford Anglia flying around. The inside of their elevator is decorated like Bellatrix’s vault.
Plus, look out for Harry Potter characters made out of lego like Harry, Ron, Hermione, Crookshanks, Voldemort, Bellatrix Lestrange, Nagini, Draco Malfoy, and Hagrid!
It’s often very busy here as you can buy all sorts of Harry Potter Lego sets. Plus, you can even make your own character out of Lego too.
32. Harry Potter walking tour
If you’d rather be guided around some of these filming locations then you can book a London Harry Potter walking tour.
You’ll be guided around some of the best Harry Potter sites for around 2 and a half hours. You’ll walk down Diagon Alley, and visit the Leaky Cauldron plus other Wizarding World sites.
There will even be a magical quiz with the chance to earn some Hogwarts house points along the way.

There is also this FREE option by Strawberry Tours here that run at 11 am and 3 pm daily.
33. The Cursed Child Play
If you’ve finished all of the Harry Potter books and the movies and still wonder what life after the Battle of Hogwarts was like, then you must watch The Cursed Child play at the Palace Theatre.
It’s set 19 years after Harry, Ron, and Hermione saved the wizarding world and their latest adventure is joined by the new generation of Hogwarts students.
There are a lot of contradicting opinions about the storyline but it is a multi-award winning show so you can’t go wrong by watching it at The Palace Theatre.
The Cursed Child is actually a show in two parts and both are over 2 hours long with an interval in between. So, you’ll be treated to over 5 hours of Harry Potter magic.
It’s not the cheapest show to watch but, if you’re willing to risk it, they often have last-minute availability at reduced rates.

34. The Cauldron
If you wanted to go to a London Harry Potter cocktail bar, then you should check out The Cauldron in London!
You can book a two-hour potion class experience where you get to brew cocktails through molecular mixology.
When you arrive, you’ll be given a complimentary drink and don your wizarding robes.
Then you’ll get started on your potion class where you’ll be given ingredients, a cauldron, and a set of instructions from your potions master.
You’ll also be given a wand to make two molecular cocktails and you can see the magic happen before your very eyes.
It’s a Hogwarts class worthy of Severus Snape himself. Prices start from £35.99 per person.
The Cauldron has two locations in London, one in Soho and one in Dalston. Make sure to book the right venue.

35. Cutter and Squidge
If you wanted to enjoy a London Harry Potter afternoon tea then I would highly recommend visiting Cutter & Squidge in Soho.
You can descend into their Potion Room where you can don a cloak and be taught by a wizard to brew potions, cast spells, and enjoy amazing food in the process.
Your afternoon tea will be served in a Hedwig-style cage and you’ll find sandwiches, pies, and even Yorkshire puddings.
The desserts were my favourite part. We enjoyed Golden Snitch macarons, Butterscotch Biskies, Rock Cakes (scones), and even a bubbling hot chocolate cauldron.
Prices start at £49.50 an adult but there are VIP experiences you can add on where you can be in front of the class like Hermione Granger herself.

36. Wizard Exploratorium Afternoon Tea
If you wanted to enjoy a sweet Harry Potter afternoon tea then you could book the Wizard Exploratorium in Soho.
The entire building is dedicated to all things magic. They have magical afternoon teas, wand workshops, and potion classes to book.

If you fancy a bit of a challenge on your visit then you could book a London Harry Potter escape room.
Enigma Quests have their own School of Witchcraft & Wizardry where you will feel like you’re attending Hogwarts.
You’ll be tested on six magical subjects including Potions, Charms, and Defence Against the Dark Arts.
It’s perfect for lovers of fantasy and the supernatural and a great activity if you’re a larger group.

38. Harry Potter Studios afternoon tea
Did you know that you can enjoy an officially licensed Harry Potter afternoon tea at the Warner Brothers Studio Tour?
You do have to pay for tickets to Harry Potter studios to enjoy it but it’s a magical extra to add to your day out!
You’ll sit under the floating candles of Hogwarts Great Hall and sip on a cup of loose-leaf tea or freshly brewed coffee.
There will be a choice of finger sandwiches, glittering scones, and wizarding world treats like a Luna Loaf and Honeydukes cheesecake. A vegan option is also available.

39. Back to Hogwarts Day at King’s Cross
Another event to add to your London Harry Potter bucket list would be to attend the Back to Hogwarts Day celebrations at King’s Cross Station.
Every year on September 1st, Potterheads gather at the station to hear a special one-off Hogwarts Express announcement.
They also put on some special shows and provide magical photo opportunities and there are even freebies up for grabs as well.

After you’ve visited all of these London Harry Potter locations, you may want to purchase some souvenirs to remember your visit.
Luckily, there are plenty of magical London Harry Potter shops to choose from whilst you’re here!
The Harry Potter Studio tour has the largest range of gifts but there are a few stores in the capital you can visit as well.

40. The Harry Potter Shop at Platform 9 3/4s
The best London Harry Potter shop has to be the official Harry Potter Shop at Platform 9 3/4s at King’s Cross Station.
You can visit where Harry first travelled to Hogwarts and buy some magical merchandise in the process.
As this is the official Wizarding World store, you’ll find all sorts of licensed merchandise including anything new they release!
You can buy Hogwarts robes, Quidditch Jumpers, house scarves, plushie toys, and any wand you can think of.
Plus, there is a Honeydukes trolley of Chocolate Frogs, Butterbeer, and Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans!
Don’t forget to get a photo with the Platform 9 3/4 trolley while you’re here. You may have to queue but it’s so worth it.
41. The House of MinaLima
The House of MinaLima is more than just a London Harry Potter shop, it’s also FREE Harry Potter museum and a must for Potterheads.
If you didn’t know, MinaLima are the amazing people that designed most of the props for the Harry Potter movies. They are two graphic designers called Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima.
You’ll see their designs on Butterbeer labels, the Marauder’s Map, Hogwarts Letters, the Black family tapestry, Chocolate Frog boxes, and even the textbooks for Hogwarts!
Inside their store in Soho, you can see many of their fine art prints framed plus you have the chance to buy some collectible pieces.
You can even get your very own personalised Hogwarts Letter if you’ve ever dreamed of receiving one.

42. House of Spells
As well as some of the dedicated London Harry Potter shops, you can visit the House of Spells located on Charing Cross Road.
They sell a huge range of magical Harry Potter gifts like wands, plushie toys, and collectibles. Plus some Fantastic Beasts merchandise.
I loved their massive selection of Harry Potter mugs and bought a really cool Death Eater cup.
As well as Harry Potter, they also sell gifts from other franchises like Game of Thrones, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings. This fantasy fandom store is well worth checking out!
43. Terminal 5 London Heathrow Harry Potter Shop
If you’re flying out of London Heathrow airport, you may be happy to know that there will still be a little bit of magic waiting for you before you fly home.
That’s right, in Terminal 5 there is a Harry Potter Shop! You’ll find it right after you pass security on the upper floor.
Inside, you’ll find plushie toys, keyrings, jumpers, bags, and any magical wand you can think of.
Plus, there are lots of practical things to buy for travel like passport covers, a sweet trolley of flight snacks from Honeydukes, and books to buy for your holiday.

London Harry Potter Hotel – Georgian House Hotel
If you were looking for a London Harry Potter hotel, you should look no further than the Georgian House Hotel.
They have an entire section of ‘Wizard Chambers’ that looks like you’ve entered the Gryffindor Common Room!
You’ll enter through a secret entranceway and be immersed into the Wizarding World with four poster beds, cauldrons, stained glass windows, and magic.
To enhance your stay, you can book one of their potions classes or a Wizard afternoon tea on weekends.

If you’re in the city for a while, you could easily travel out via public transport to see even more Harry Potter filming locations.
Here are some ideas for day trips;
- Virginia Water (1 hour by train) – otherwise known as ‘the other Hogwarts Lake’ you can visit some Harry Potter filming locations near Windsor. Find out where to go here.
