Strange Bird Alternative Wine Trail
Expand your wine horizon and try an alternative variety. The Strange Bird Alternative Wine Trail is for wine lovers who want more than the classic varieties. Launched in 2007 by Granite Belt Wine & Tourism, more than 20 wine producers are part of the Strange Bird trail. Discover lesser know varieties being produced in the Granite Belt from the Spanish Tempranillo, Italian Nebbiolo, Barbera, and the French Chenin Blanc, Viognier, Durif, Mouvedre, Petit Verdot and more. Recent plantings of Saperavi (Georgia) and Lagrein (Italy) will soon join the Strange Bird family.
