Granite Belt wineries are the most awarded in Queensland, earning the reputation of Queensland's premier wine region, and with over 50 wineries, vineyards and cellar doors to choose from, your sure to fine a wine, or a few, that you really like. The region's signature whites include Verdelho, Semillon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. For that full flavour, tuck into the local Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties. For wine lovers looking for alternative varieties, the Strange Bird Alternative Wine Trail is well worth a visit. The Granite Belt is also home to the Queensland College of Wine Tourism (QCWT), a purpose-built facility providing education and training for the Queensland wine tourism industry. The College facilitates education and trainig across secondary, TAFE and university levels. Visitors to the QCWT can learn about the wine industry at the tourism centre, taste the award-winning Banca Ridge wines in the cellar door and enjoy a snack or meal in the bistro. All the college activity is presented by students in their learning environment. For more information on the wineries, vineyards and cellar doors of the Granite Belt, follow the links below:
