Winter's fireside romance
The Southern Downs experiences four distinct seasons, winter's clear crisp days with a chance of snow; spring’s freshness of the bud burst, wildflowers and new release wines, the cooler mountain air of Summer and the delicious stone fruit and berries are sure to entice and you can’t miss Autumn’s golden colours.











Average daily tempratures range from around 24-26⁰C in the summer months, 17-24⁰C during autumn, 14-15⁰C during winter (nights can get below 0⁰C) and 18-23⁰C in spring.  However, no matter what time you visit, it doesn’t hurt to through in a jacket as although the days are beautiful, evenings and mornings can be very fresh!

Wet Weather Activities

It’s raining? So what! There are plenty of ways to enjoy the Southern Downs & Granite Belt in the wet. What a great opportunity to cosy up with the one you love indoors, relax and rejuvenate, catch up on some movies or read that book you’ve been meaning to for ages. Head to the cinema or try other indoor activities such as ten pin bowling or indoor rock climbing.  Find a cellar door with a café and spend a couple of hours sampling the wines and regional cuisine. Or if all else fails, head to the shops for some retail therapy or indulge in a massage or beauty treatment.
